About this release

BETA CAE Systems announces the release of the new ANSA/EPILYSIS/META suite v21.1.6.

Apart from fixes in the detected issues, this version also hosts numerous noteworthy enhancements and implementations.

The most important enhancements and fixes implemented are listed below.

Enhancements and known issues resolved in ANSA

Known issues resolved in ANSA

CAD Import / Export

Thanks to the new library of CT 2021 SP3, unexpected termination regarding SolidWorks and CATPart files has been avoided and special cases with missing color information in CATIA have been successfully addressed. These bug-fixes come to supplement, on top of the existing ones, the support of the following formats:
- NX CR 1980
- Creo 8
- Parasolid 33

CAD to ANSA Translators

Translation per folder via the ?idir option would not succeed in acquiring license for CATIA v4 files.

Data Management

ANSA could terminate unexpectedly when adapted Subsystems or Group Subsystems that contain adapted Subsystems were saved in DM.

DECKs

Unexpected termination would occur due to erroneous definition of not Applied A_POINTs entities or when GEB [GEB_GN] entities were attached to Rigid material.

Optimization Tool

The creation of the session file for a DOE study, through the Post-Processing task item, would not be successful for other than EPILYSIS and Nastran solvers.

Known issues resolved in EPILYSIS

Calculate

WEIGHTCHECK/GRDPNT would not be calculated correctly in SOL101 case with DMIG (M2GG).

Output

Unexpected termination would occur in SOL110 with EKE output request.

SOL200

Unknown conflict would occur in case of ANALYSIS=DFREQ/MFREQ with adjoint response and structural damping.

Moreover, EPILYSIS would terminate with an error, if USET GRID for MDEXPORT was referenced in an SPC, even if the USET DOF and the SPC DOF were different.

Known issues resolved in META

General

Deleting a window while animating would cause unexpected termination.

Optistruct

Shape Optimization results from .op2 files for mode optimization would not be read correctly.

LS-DYNA

Unexpected termination could occur when plotting curves of Shell Strain output from binout files.

Read Results

PIDs would not be read correctly in .h5 format from conjugate heat transfer Converge cases, and in Patran formats with 8-digit ID.

NVH Calculators

OptiStruct FSI DMIG would not be successfully read in Modal Response.

Fluid structure coupling calculated by META would couple two parallel structural panels instead of just one, if the cavity free surface was positioned between these two panels.

Modal Response & FRF Assembly: In Fraction (Polar) Plots, the Range Type setting would not be respected.

Automation

Memory leak could occur when using thr script function results.StartChangingCentroidScalar().
